A Brand Strategist with over 25 years of experience, Rob has developed innovative marketing and public relations programs for leading consumer, finance, professional services, higher education, non-profit and technology clients.
Early in his career, Rob played increasingly senior roles at advertising agencies in New York (NW Ayer and Della Femina Travisano & Company) and Boston (Mullen, Arnold Worldwide) where he developed award-winning brand awareness programs for existing and new product launches.
His first foray into technology was as Director, Marketing Communications at ProCD, a pioneering software company that manufactured the first comprehensive compilation of telephone numbers on CD-ROM. Later, Rob was Vice President, Marketing at edu.com, the first e-commerce site exclusively for college students. In each position he was responsible for all facets of brand positioning and reputation management and was a member of the senior management team credited with building, growing, and eventually selling each company to a larger concern.
In 2001 Rob founded RL Strategies, a marketing consultancy servicing all size organizations from pre-funded start-ups to large global brands.
In 2005 he co-founded the brand strategy firm Brand Blueprint.
A published author, television spokesperson, marathon runner and highly sought-after speaker, Rob is a frequently quoted expert on branding and marketing topics. From 2001 to 2005 Rob wrote the monthly online "Marketing Strategies" column for the Wall Street Journal. Later he wrote the monthly "Marketing Matters" column for the Boston Business Journal.
Rob studied at the University of London (Hampstead, UK) and holds a BA from Connecticut College (New London, CT).
